  The Home Depot's Kids Workshops offer useful projects including the creation of toolboxes, fire trucks and mail organizers, as well as more educational projects, such as a window birdhouse, bughouse or Declaration of Independence frame kit.

The workshops teach children do-it-yourself skills and tool safety, while at the same time helping to instill a sense of accomplishment. Additionally, this fun time allows for quality one-on-one time between adults and children.

Saturday, February 11 - Thalia Kids’ Book Club Special Event A Wrinkle in Time 50th Anniversary Celebration

An all-star cast of writers and actors, including award-winning novelist Rebecca Stead (When You Reach Me), Katherine Patterson (Bridge to Terabithia) and Lois Lowry (The Giver) read from and discuss the 1962 Newbery Medal-winning classic by Madeline L’Engle. The discussion will be moderated by NYPL Children's Librarian and Fuse #8 blogger Betsy Bird. The event will also include a special introduction by children's book historian Leonard Marcus.
Madeline L’Engle was born in New York City and wrote more than 60 books during her lifetime. This is planned to be the official national event celebrating the anniversary.
